Linking You

The redder a font, the more readable (so that you can notice).

Click on the links I have added, save me the comments and find out by yourselves.

You'd better browse each of them for a while. There's more than something for everyone.

Cheers, mates!

Now, Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow

Too hot during early December's bank holidays, but surprise, surprise! Freezing cold 10 days later. We saw and enjoyed snow for a couple of days, just a few miles from the seaside.

By the way, my not updating the blog does not mean you can't feed me. And stop being peeping Toms, Benigànim students. Nobody's perfect. Not even the Queen, who seems to have been changing her posh accent over the last few years.

We'll Always Remember You, Chola

She would have been 9 on December 19, but a lymphoma took her away (on November 25) in no time at all. Children, teens and grown-ups loved her and many want to touch her ashes. As most dogs, Chola was unique, and she was mine.

Henri Michaux

Is France a small country compaired to the rest of the world? Do they speak a funny language? Are champagne and some wines a good excuse to know about this country?
And... what about French literature and art? Awesome, really.
Michaux was a finally admired poet and painter and a self-confessed 'Belgian from Paris.

Let's google a bit and let your minds blow.

Llutxent

OK, there you are. This is dedicated to those of you (most) who have been missing homeland pictures. Llutxent's monastery or convent is known as a major cornerstone among religious architecture and besides, from it, you can get gorgeous sights of Albaida's Valley; others choose it to spend a quiet car evening with a partner, talk the night away or even walk their dogs. Here, this dry valley looks greener than it actually is. Consequently, let it rain, let it rain, let it rain.
Sorry I haven't been able to take any pictures of the cloister yet.

Wave Good-bye, Say Hello

September ought to be a fairly rainy month down here. Climate change has changed so many things that are important to us; but we've changed too many which were most important to nature.
'The last one is a faggot', was a common home cry to make the other boys run for a certain goal.
Who's to blame?

These soft morning clouds may seem poetic, but proper rain does not seem to come from such clouds. Should we pray for the rain to fall like those natives used to?

Another Seaside Rendez-Vous

Rosa's huge cactus waves good-bye the summer holidays with a short-lived, splendid flower. Its sister will be in bloom within a couple of days, but just for two short hours.
Neither beauty nor youth can be everlasting; therefore, carpe diem, wrote Horace centuries ago ('pluck the day', in Latin), enjoy life while you can.

Did you ever see The Dead Poets' Society? (Highly recommended). Horace (ancient Rome), Cavafy (20th Century Greece) and Walt Whitman (USA) were lingering on. It's a small world, isn't it?

Don't smoke it, read it up.

Grass. GRAAAASSS. Greeeeen. Soft, smelly, shiny. My dogs love leaves of grass. Do you? 'Leaves of Grass', by Walt Whitman. Poetry. A newer way of picking up girls or boys. A never-failing way of feeling FINE.

Greece is second to none

Many people claim they prefer flesh to stones. My answer is expectable, 'there's time to feel both'. Besides, when it's stifling hot, stones don't sweat. If you enjoy walking and wandering with no rushing or pushing, Greece is rife with magical sites that take you back in time and make you dream. Athens, Corynth, Cape Sounion, some nearby islands... And you can eat tasty food anywhere, anytime, anyhow. Welcoming friendly people the Greeks are.

The Stones started us up

Hi there, Stones fans. As the old chaps stood us up instead of starting us up in sunny Spain, I'm showing you some more enduring and reliable stones I have recently seen. How do you like Italy? Stones everywhere, aren't there? Just beautiful, anyway.

Scotty and Chola Meet a Younger Golden Retriever

The dogs also needed a change. June is fairly hot in Eastern Spain and they don't bear high temperatures very well. A couple of swims a day is quite a convenient solution. Besides, they revisit their childhood land, say hello to their growing offspring or, as the younger one on the photo, meet new friends.

Away at the Sea Side

Some time away from the Net to have a needed rest and enjoy the Mediterranean. My students have already sat their final tests and now straight to University (most of them). Good luck, cheers and all the best.

More Empty London Images

It's true it was an early Sunday morning, but isn't it unbelievable? Piccadilly Circus clean and clear.
Apparently, the van on the right was delivering freshly-baked croissants to some central hotels.

Dead City? Neither pedestrians nor cars. London's Saint Paul's Cathedral invites you to a silent visit.
If, besides, it's a specially March freezing cold Sunday morning, what are any drunken revellers supposed to do strolling these empty streets?
Beautifully gorgeous London anytime.

Dog and bitch swim freely together in fresh water. Meanwhile a few dickheads have been littering the surrounding area we had to clean up for them.
'Spider and I' sang and played Brian Eno on 'Before and after Science' disc.

Coglioni-Couillons-Balls-Collons

One of my coffee-drink partners has come out with the old Spanish saying that goes, 'If one million flies eat crap, they can't be wrong' . What I did not quite understand was what that Berlusconi picture was doing on the table.

A guy's ass

Talking about The Stones, what do chicks find attractive about a guy's ass?
It seems to be that 62-year-old-Jagger still excites some feelings among certain audiences and has an enviable 37-year-old girlfriend. Has he really had sex with over 2000 girls/women/ladies? Not on the same day, I hope.
Why overweighed people keep talking about The Rolling Stones' frontman's thinness?

The Stones are back and back and back

As many of us dance (do we really?) to non-lyric songs and the rest listen to domestic pop music, why do bands such as The Rolling Stones or Bruce Springsteen or U2 fill up stadiums worldwide?

Better late than never

Dear younger ones,
As you seem to get a bit tired to school and even often daringly yawn because of unknown (to me) reasons, I started thinking about blogging you whenever you feel like getting in touch.
Reading in English tires you out, studying grammar wears you out, translating sometimes disheartens you, and so on. What can we do? Couldn't you date an English-speaking person?
Love, desire or a longing for new things opens or breaks barriers. Friends of mine have become bilingual due to a new best friend about to become a girl or boyfriend. Might this be one of your choices?
This is one of my suggestions. Meanwhile, browse properly and read on.
Cheers,
Joan.
